Lazo | Coffee Table

The LAZO Coffee is a collaboration between Melisa Aldrete and Caterina Moretti. Melissa works with terracotta, using a traditional technique to create hand-molded coils for the base of the piece and covering them with bronze dust. The clay is then heated in an oven, and the reaction creates unique black metallic tones. The table's round top, designed by Caterina, also bears imprints of fire in dark in ombre tones. The wood-charring process reveals the story held in the tree's rings.

Characterized by unexpected black shades created by changes in temperature, LAZO, (meaning link in Spanish) is a union of techniques and materials, of fleeting and enduring gestures exacted by the design and craft of the piece.
